yeah i know its been far too long i abandoned my blog ,si? been so busy before i didn't even have the time to write anything, but then later i lost my appetite to write anything about everything.

just watched Becoming Jane just now on Astro and suddenly a question from a friend of mine long time ago popped. Her question was, "kenapa qilah suka baca novel hah? qila suka berangan eh?" .

She already answer her question herself before i can even tell her the truth myself. But the moment i heard her answer i was so shocked and surprised how shallow the answer was. Hello, kerja aku bukan berangan je okay?. Though architects need to imagine a lot and imagination creates everything you have now.

Yes i admit when i have free time especially during long holidays i'll read anything that i think interesting.

Reading, watching and even liking Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre and Becoming Jane do not show u like to daydreaming or to have the perfect love or marriage someday, but indeed these stories really inspired me in a way as a woman. These stories show that women also can create something, can be something and can be someone important. I just knew that Jane Austen never get married. All she wanted to do was to write books.

During the summer holidays, i've been reading a couple of books that i think some of them could really inspire you in a way which are the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Have a little Faith by Mitch Albom.

I still remember when i did a very short attachment in an architecture firm after SPM. The architect (which is my mum's friend too) asked me a question at the end of the day,

"Do you imagine things when you are reading a book? If yes, then its just as simple as that to be an architect".
but of course you have to put efforts and hardwork with that.

My own experience is limited to universities. One of the saddest aspects of the lives of many students is that they always feel pressured. The irony is that those who have the luxury of spending time reading the great books of our culture and exploring the intricate beauty of creation find themselves always fighting deadlines. Students complain about the number of pages they have to read or write, and anxiously wonder how they will finish their many assignments on time. Today they have become the area for a hectic race to accomplish as much as possible, and to acquire in a short period the necessary tools to survive the great battle of human life. alhamdulillah im still alive despite the busy-ness of being an architorture student.just submited my tech4 folio yesterday and you cant imagine how relieve i am.i cant beleive i dont have to do any more tech after this.so relieve that i become a lazy-ass yesterday.sort of just celebrating my ownself by doing nothing and just sleep sleep sleep.hahaaa

now i only have 2 subjects left ; design and my elective conceptual photography.nothing much left for my elective because we just have to print out our works for the exhibition.

now i can concentrate on my design.2 weeks left before final crit.lets hope for the best because this is my last lower pool studio. upper pool studio for next semester? thats scary and makes me realize how quick we become older every single day!

im sorry dear friends if i cant spend time with you guys lately.yeah i admit i dont have a life, but the moment i decided to take architecture, i have to put all my life into it.no turning back.i know all students are busy as i am, but taking architecture is quite different.i dont have any exams or tests, so my entire grades depend on my assignments which is my design progress(drawings/3d/models etc).can you imagine we have presentation to show our progress every single class for every subject and every week! so yeah we have to put full effort into it.some are formal some are informal.and yeah, im enjoying myself doing it so no harm to me for stick infront of my pc 24/7.

and yes, sometimes i get stuck and lost for ideas and thats the time when you become so stress! i bought a book early this year which called 101 Things I Learned in Architecture School by Matthew Frederick but dont have the time to read the whole thing yet,just managed to flip through some of interesting quotes and found this one:

People do come and go.about 5 months ago, i lost an acquaintance of mine who also studied in rmit.she died of lung cancer.she is too young to die at her age.she's one year younger than me.Al-fatihah to her.

recently, a friend of a friend of mine(nini's friend) suffered from dengue fever.He's in critical condition now.i hope he will get well soon.Let's pray for him.

went to new zealand for 14 days with NAOMIH! it was superb! so many incidents in that 2 weeks.glad u guys allowed me to join! thanks NAOMIH !

we went to a few places ; christchurch , queenstown , auckland (merempat kt mcd for 7 hours then crashed a hotel lobby for 2 hours!) , rotorua , lake taupo, wellington.

i did bungee jumping, swoop , handgliding , zorb , canyon skippers jetboating in queenstown and rotorua.

i went to rmit today to help my tutor pin up the layouts for the coming exhibtion this wednesday and i feel sooooooo guilty because of 2 incidents:

1: i crashed someone's model infront of his eyes.
happily i walk into studios on level 12 , thinking oh im so freeee after this no
more work and at the same time looking at people's work on the walls.then
suddenly i was stumbled and when i look back, i just realised that i actually i
stepped on someone's model. and at that time that person actually sitting infront
of the model.
and i was like "im sooooooooo sorry i didnt realise it was there bla bla". then he
said "its okay, just be more careful next time".i feel so bad after that.dah laa
pijak model orang, depan mata orang tu pulak tu , memang tak boleh lari la kan.

2: christine help me pinning up my drawings layout and we need someone to tell us if
its straight or not.then suddenly i saw a friend of mine( shes an arabian btw) and
call for her name quickly "fatima! fatima! fatima!".but she didn't respond.and i
was like tak cukup kuat ke suara aku ni.then suddenly she turn around and i
quickly ask for her help.after finish with the pinup i just realised her name is
not fatima! its aishah! i feeeeeeeeel so so bad after that.

just finished my final crit last nite.

it was quite good actually but i went through so many hardships before the final crit from the computer at uni to printing for the presentation.

oh well im glad its over.now whats left is portfolio!

on tuesday i didnt sleep at all to prepare for my final crit on my elective.on wednesday i just slept from 3pm - 8 pm then stay at uni the whole nite with zi yang until 6 am and go back and sleep until 10am.and last nite i slept from 2 am in the morning untill 2pm the next day.gila tak.mesti ganti the days before punya tido.haha.tido matiiiii.

oh well i cant beleive the semester is almost over. just had my UN charted kosovo elective final crit last wednesday.it went quite good actually.didn't expect for Brent Alpress to be the guest crit. when i came in to the class and saw him i was like "omg is he going to crit our presentation today? gulp gulp mati lah aku".but then after i presented, it was quite ok lah.his comments also not bad ape.then after each one of us finish presenting, he said it was quite a good class, especially it broaden your knowledge about urban architecture.he is very right indeed.before this i never knew about urban sprawl in each country.about how people populated each city. is it randomly sprawled , a garden city , a grid city like melbourne, a linear city? i wonder how the population in selangor sprawled actually.i can ask fatudin since he's taking town planning.what is left for this subject is to fix our presentation to be submitted for the folio next month.

and 2 weeks left for final crit for design! next week we have to present full mock up for final.like a real one.since i have only design to focus on, i'll give full attention to it.it seems like i have to stay in the comp lab at uni almost every nights with Zi Yang until the final.i hope he'll agree to do work at level 7 lab because it was so damn hot in level 8.i know he like it there because less people and u have 2 big monitor to do your 3d etc but still i cant concentrate with my 3d if im not comfortable myself.i hope we can finish all the drawings and 3d on time.oh well i think for this presentation also i need to spend a lot for the printing.since it is large scale studio, our building is quite huge.that's why its a pair work studio.last sem it costed me about aud200++ to print for the final because somebody canceled my printing at uni so i have to print outside at the shop.i guess the this sem will cost a lot too! oh my money is flying~~.

i've not been talking to him for like long time now.awww how i miss him and my friends back in malaysia.and of course my family too.ok just 12 more days before final crit then submit the folio then im free woohoo.cant wait to go to nz with sydney people.i really need a getaway from all of this.

p/s: i hope the bunga-bunga guy(as what zi yang said, haha/the hard core guy wont be our guest crit for the final presentation.he's very rough and scary man!

selamat hari raya aidilfitri , maaf zahir batin to everyone i know.please forgive and forget if i ever done anything wrong to you okay?

i skip my elective class on pagi raya.still, very fortunate of me because my cousin got exam on first,second and third day of raya.its ok nadiah, 1 more raya to go! huhu.

on the day before raya itself, we had final crit for tech 3 (we as in me and partner and almost everybody lah!) and because we didn't sleep the whole night, i slept afterwards after the crit from 3pm to 9pm while all other people busy preparing for raya tomorrow.syera was out helping in malaysian hall while kak nini already celebrating in clayton , and i was sleeping alone in the house while everybody else started to bertakbir.

thats when i felt so homesick, sitting on the bed alone di malam raya.

and honestly for raya i only went to one open house and watch a movie with my housemates last night.couldnt go to others' because i was so busy in the comp lab doing design with my partner.oh well, i should feel gratitude that i still can celebrate.

5 more weeks to go! and 3 more months to go! i really really really miss them.everybody.

i dont carry much in my bag when i go to uni.actually it depends on what im going to do each day.for example if i have to do model in the studio on that day i'll usually carry more things, like model making tools in my bag.

oh very busy this past few weeks.i even dont have the time to get my 3rd jab for hepatitis b thats supposed to be like 4 weeks ago? dont get me wrong i dont have hepatitis b, its just immunation. and the working permit? kalaulah satu hari ada lebih daripada 24 jam, kalaulah kan.

i've cut my fingers everywhere because of of the demand of model-making in this studio.not only that, we have to use the laser cutter machine which we have to wait for like the whole day for our queue.moreover, the air in the workshop semua dah toxicated.tak elokkkkk.

one of my wisdom tooth is coming out, which is not a really good time.i had a terrible headache last 2 nights which made me sleep the whole night.i think im the most unproductive archi student this week! arghhh stress stress.

all i need now is a good enough 6-7 hours of sleep, but i cant.haihhh.

apart from the busyness with projects and assignments, im in no mood to write anything.

oh i haven't mention about elective subject that im taking this semester, have i? nope i didn't take any language subject ; chinese,japanese,french .nope i didn't take any photography subject (its full tho).

instead..im taking UN Charted Kosovo.sounds very humanatarian ah? indeed it is..its all about urban architecture and about redesigning/redeveloping a new state in kosovo which in is Ferizaj.its something about designing by following the context of the site, but not only physical context but also social,political,economical context of the site.fyi, kosovo just gain their independence in february 2008 after a long ethnic conflicts between serbs and albanians.there were bloody wars and disputes between the 2 ethnics for quite a long time.

its what the woman last week mentioned when she gave a talk in our class,

"architects without frontiers"

she said not all people want to get involved in this thing.this is not all about working in big corporate company.this is about helping the less fortunate people out there.

by taking this subject, i've broaden my knowledge actually .now i know what nato is, what EU is, what is the current issues.seriously, before this i dont even care to find out what these organizations are for.

its quite a good class actually, we learn how to do diagrams a lot! how to visualise everything with minimal information but maximum means, graphically.

eh i tot im in no mood to write? haha just realize i write quite a lot.

today is my roomates' birthday! yes both of them.and yes the number is so beautiful today 08.08.08..so can u imagine how hard for me to make a surprise for them last night.dah laa studio habis kol 9.30 last nite.all the shops were already closed so i decided to make an instant choc cake instead.ok lah cake tu haha even tho some of the candles melted on the cake.haha at least i tried ok.haha and just now we had a dinner at sofia,camberwell.it was a blast! ok i'll put the pictures later because banyak sgt nak compilekan.

pools , pools and more swimming pools.just now we have to visit a swimming pool wayyy in packenham which is an hour journey by train and we have to wait for one more hour for the bus to come.

The one below is another pool in Badeschiff , Berlin that we have to do research on.It looks more or less the same with the one we visited this afternoon.

The pool is convertible where during summer it can totally be opened but in winter they close the whole thing like a cocoon-shape building.

how cool is that?

we need more flexbile-convertible-adjustable-kind-of-building like this in malaysia dont we?

it is sad when you cant talk anything with your roomate, the only thing you talk about is when she asking you for a direction to somewhere or how much is the price of this thing and that thing.

it is sad when you dont even know when is your roomate's birthdate or she doesn't know yours.

it is sad when your roomate is one hell greedy woman.tahap maximum punya kemut where all her food are labelled with her name.excuse me, ni bukan asrama okay?

it is even sad when i found out that she keeps her food like in pantry inside her wardrobe where u can find beras,raw spaghetti and all other foods.

it is sad when your roomate cannot accept other people's opinion, even it is right and even about tiny little things.

it is even sad shen she said she was raised up by her parents to be organized and tidy and all, padahal she herself doesnt like to wash her own dirty dishes and just leave it beside the sink.dah la tak pernah buang sampah.ingat kiteorang ni DBKL ke?

it is sad when your roomate talk bad about you not behind your back but just right beside your own pair of ears.kuat-kuat pulak tu.excuse me, i got feelings too okay?

it is soooo sad when she thinks she is right all the way and we are the bad , badly
unraised , spoiled undergrad students all the time.

it is even sad and i cant beleive im saying this, but i cant wait for her to leave.one more month Qilah, just one more month.after that im going to be the happiest roomate on earth.haha
